Happy Thanksgiving

Families are so important; they are the core of our very existence. Without our family, who would we be? As we are all busy in our worlds of technology, work, school, sports and more, we need to take the time to create family memories. Instead of watching a baseball game, go throw a ball with your daughter… instead of just buying a pie, bake a pie with your son. Have a weekly family fun night and do something different each week, whether you have a game night, create art or make s’mores and hot cocoa, it’s about reconnecting in a world that is so easy to get disconnected… “Enjoy the little things in life, for someday you will realize they were the big things.”

As we are about to celebrate Thanksgiving with our families, let’s create some memories that will last a lifetime!:)

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and have lots of fun!:)

Happy Mother’s Day!!

What a wonderful day to celebrate Mother’s! I’m so lucky to spend the day with my daughter Karissa!!:)Here is a funny picture she took a few days ago… Enjoy your day and be glad you didn’t get a mother’s day treat like the one that’s suggested on the reader board, I’m glad I didn’t! LOL;)

“Music is what feelings sound like.”

Just like portraits can evoke emotion, so can a song.  I love music, all kinds of music.  I never go a day without listening to music, Pandora radio is on everyday as I work.  Some songs make me cry, some make me laugh and some make me want to jump up and dance!:)  The voice is such an instrument of beauty and the art that is created by singers and musicians alike can be so moving. Today I heard an amazing song by Pricilla Ahn on Pandora… it was so beautiful that it inspired me to write this post and share with you.  Her song reminded me of being a little girl and the dreams we dream when we are young…  I hope you enjoy the song!   Here is ‘Dream’ by Pricilla Ahn!   Have a beautiful day! :)

I would love to hear what your favorite songs are.  And what kind of  music makes you feel…  love, joy, sadness, energetic…  What song makes you want to dance? What song makes you remember a moment in time?  Enjoy the moments of each day.:)

Below is a video of senior photos as well as some sophomore and junior photos of people with their instruments.  It’s fun to watch while listening to the ‘Dream’ song.

July 4th will mark Studio K’s 11 year anniversary in Olympia, Washington!!  To celebrate, we’d love to give you 11 wallets of your favorite ‘art’ portrait of you doing what you love.  Whether it’s singing, dancing, painting, reading or playing an instrument or a sport, give us a call to schedule your senior session and let’s have some fun!:)   Call Kari @ 360-923-5924 or email kari@studiokportraits.com

Make a comment on this post and ‘like’ it for facebook and we’ll give you an 8×10 of your ‘art’ portrait with any portrait package!! :)

Thank you Sophia, Yes, the ‘arts’ is an amazing thing! Imagine life without art… how boring would that be? I can’t wait to do our dance feature!!! :)

Kari – Music is such an amazing way for all of us to communicate – It transcends generations and keeps us all in synch…I love how you have captured the kids and their passions in this montage – it is really brilliant!

Love it Kari! The “arts” are an amazing thing. So awesome to get others to truly appreciate what so many do.
